Boy oh boy...
Its apparent by now for those who often drop by my blog that I’m in love with Alice Dellal. I even shaved half of my head. Yes to that extend. Haha. Karl chose her for the new Boy Chanel ad and I absolutely in love with it. I like it when Chanel channel edginess to their collection.

Item: Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment (RM 68)
I do take my own sweet time in reviewing beauty products because I only write about something that I whole heartedly believe in. Therefore, time is of the essence and I actually try it on myself before telling the world to go and chase it from the beauty counters. My reviews are not done because I am paid to do so but the products that I wrote about before are the ones that specifically “live” on my shelf. Ok enough with me justifying my position- I have no idea why I have to, it became part and parcel of a chambee’s life I supposed. Lol.

The first product I’m gonna review today is a lip treatment by Fresh. I swear by it- I’m not even kidding. It’s the ultimate lip balm. Why? Because I have encountered chapped lip problems all my life, perhaps due to our climate. I bought it from Sephora because of the reviews and numerous awards given to it by magazines. I knew I really need to try it. So after about 2 months of using it, all I can say is AMAZING! No such thing as chapped lips and my skin is hydrated 24/7. The key to this lip treatment is the ingredients. Its eco friendly and the ingredients are eco certified with no petroleum in it. Yes stop using those lip balms which are made from petroleum. This wonderful lip treatment comes in an original color which is no color and other shades such as rose, plum and coral. But I’m in love with rose as it gives you a hint of colour yet very subtle. It’s a bit expensive but worth every cent.

Furrr...Furrr....
I just love her cool effortless vibe of the girl in the pic. She made it look easy to rock fur (although I'm agaisnt it, only faux please). Pic taken from The Sartorialist.

As white as a pelican
I still can’t seem to get over Gywneth Paltrow’s white Tom Ford dress. She’s known for her sleek and clean way of dressing therefore it’s not a surprise that she chose to wear that amazing dress to Oscar. Gwyneth took it to another level, looking like an ice queen- that cape, oh my, that cape. What can I say more, it’s the magical touch of the cape that kept everyone talking.

Another dress that did it for me was the Givenchy Couture worn by Rooney Mara. I’ve always been a fan of Givenchy Couture Collection. I love their details which are very understated but yet very intricate. Till today, I still have the image of Florence Welch in that flawless Givenchy Couture dress at the Grammy- still in my system, still fresh.

Overall, everyone on the red-carpet didn’t wow me enough. But I do adore the white Valentino dress worn by Shailene Woodley. Many critics didn’t quite like it because they thought it made her look older than her age. But personally for me, it’s a good option for the Muslims. I can’t stop thinking of how stunning it will look on Yuna. Which means, Pharell better get her into the Grammys next year. Lol.

Pushing the limits, seeing the beauty.
Today I’m not gonna talk about fashion on glossywind, lets talk about art instead coz somehow its interrelated with fashion. And also because I love to spend time sitting at Petronas Gallery alone for hours- the peacefulness and space you have with art pieces can actually bring you such tranquillity. Plus, it’s the closest and most accessible art gallery in town. I do wish there are more galleries in KL, so the society can appreciate the beauty of art. I’m currently interested with the work done by artist, Taryn Simon. In her recent work, she explored the limits of photography and produced something that makes us think beyond our comfort zone. She’s a brilliant artist in the sense that she reveals a side of photography that we rarely focus on. Most of us take pictures for the happy memories and leisure but Simon showed to the world how photography can lead to a death sentence of a man- how it is use in the court of justice as evidence. She also revealed to us how human are connected by blood line that leads to many destruction in the world and how all of us desire the same brands of goods which leads to counterfeits. She pushes the limits of photography and creates a whole new dimension- talking about the lines in between the truth and the beauty of photos.

The Fannings
The Olsen twins have a very special place in my heart. But another new duo I’m rather obsessed about currently is The Fannings. I can’t quite figure whether it was those pictures published in W Magazine or those rather quirky, yet funny pictures taken by Terry Richardson that caught my eyes. All I remembered vividly was the interview between Dakota and Oprah talking about her hobby of knitting- my mum told me that she’s gonna be big one day. I guess my mum was right, no doubt about that. Then few years later came dear little Elle doing her thing on movies like she was born an actress and wearing those Chanel dresses like a pro- way beyond her age. So it is a no brainier why Marc chose them as his muse for Marc by Marc Jacobs. Dakota appeared on the perfume advert of Oh, Lola! which is now banned in the UK for being too provocative- something that Marc is known for, hence the BANG! perfume advert.

Despite all the controversial about the Fannings doing things way beyond their age, all I can say is why not? They possess the talent, the beauty, the money, the sources and everything in between. Just like the Olsens, live life to the fullest and do it at a very young age and most importantly do it together with someone you are blood related to. Because when there is no one else to trust, you can always trust your family. Genius- no wonder the Godfather kept it in the family. Haaaah!
